Tommaso Gatti is an independent Italian furniture maker based in London Bermondsey.
He learnt woodworking in Como, home to a long tradition in furniture and textiles. Collaborating with prestigious Italian wood masters and interior designers in Milano and across Northern Italy and Switzerland, he has been making bespoke furniture for private homes and realising commissions for Casta Diva Resort, Villa d'Este Como, Vodafone Village Milan, Samsung District Milan, ExpoMilano2015 and Milan Furniture Fair (Salone del Mobile) 2015. He formed excellent woodworking skills and a fine taste for interior design, in depth knowledge of tradition and technical proficiency in the use of the most advanced technologies of the trade (CNC machinery). This combination of elements is the key to his distinctive practice and craftsmanship today.
In London since 2015, Tommaso has completed his knowledge and skills with awareness of the English carpentry traditions and ways of the trade. Working for prestigious companies, architects and designers he has been studying and realising woodwork for domestic interiors as well as taking part in the production of avanguarde ouvres of furniture design which are now located across some prestigious corporate venues in London, among them the Sky Garden lobby, the headquarters of Westminster Police, One Hundred and Eleven in Mayfair and Thirty Broadwick in Soho.
Opened in 2017, Tommaso Gatti Creative Maker is today a vibrant business that combines tradition, innovation and a twist of creativity for private and corporate spaces.
